As I was travelling through Peru I decided to visit the jungle. With a friend of mine, which I met in Cuzco, we decided to go to the National Park Tambopata.
Tambopata is an amazing jungle. First of all, if you arrive from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado you’re struck by the heat and air humidity. But slowely your body get adapted… We met Marco (our guide) there and noticed soon, that he is a really expert at the jungle. He explained us the whole time during our walkings what kind of plants, trees and animals you could see. In the beginning it’s hard to see any animals, because they’re hidden in the trees, slowely your eyes get adapted to the jungle and you start to see :-) …. It’s really amazing the wildlife of the jungle also the sound, day and night you hear different sound. We walked also in the night, what a feeling….. there you can see all the insects, spider, snakes, the shiny eyes of the caymans very impressive. During the day you can also see, parrots, monkeys, snakes, birds…. be aware, that you’re not in a zoo, this means you can have luck and see a lot of animals and sometimes you’re not.
It was an amazing trip in the jungle, I really can recommend Marco as a tourgide. He’s reliable and makes good tours!
